The Importance Of Forklift Safety Training

When I started my business in Alaska over 25 years ago, it never crossed my mind that I would someday need to take forklift safety training. Having an actual warehouse was simply not on my radar. But the business grew, we eventually had to add a small warehouse. Several years ago, it became necessary to expand the warehouse even further, and I bought my first forklift about nine months ago. Because none of us even knew how to drive the forklift, I had to arrange for an instructor to come out and give us all a forklift safety training class. Even though I am a senior citizen now, I took the class also because I am constantly having to fill in for employees who are absent from work. I have to admit that the class was rather fun and that the forklift has made everyone's work load a bit lighter. Although there have only been a couple of times when it has been necessary for me to take over forklift duty for an absent employee, it's actually been pleasant when I've done so. Our second forklift is scheduled to be delivered in two weeks, and I am looking forward to taking it for a spin.
